The co-host of the event vanquished the Men in Green in the super over, and they looked completely lost.

Supporters started critiquing the team’s performance; some attributed the devastating loss on the batting order, while others cited shortcomings in Babar Azam’s leadership.

Former cricket player Basit Ali demanded a management change, claiming that Shaheen Afridi’s appointment as captain and subsequent removal from the position just before the T20 World Cup 2024 had damaged the team’s esprit de corps.

During an ARY News show, the former cricketer was asked about who should be dropped from the team after the tournament.

Responding to the question, Basit Ali said that those who changed the captain before the World Cup should be removed.

We are no longer in sync after they altered the tempo. He went on, “They should be kicked off the team first, and then new faces should be added.”

According to former wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal, players ought to be removed from the team based only on their output.

“We have observed that it has not been completed during the past five years. If we implement a check-and-balance system within the team, our cricket can get better,” he continued.

Akmal continued by saying that playing cricket at home should take precedence over selecting players for the national squad based on their results in the Pakistan Super League.
