In the super over, which was bowled by Mohammad Amir, who gave up seven extras in the critical over at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, the US set a goal of 19 for Pakistan.

Fakhar Zaman and Iftikhar Ahmed arrived to take on the super over, chasing a target of 19.

Pakistan was on five deliveries when Ahmed was caught on the third. On the final three balls, Shadab Khan joined Fakhar Zaman with 13 left.

Shadab hit a pair on the next ball and then took advantage of the fourth delivery for a four after a wide.

Khan had one final ball to hit for six to tie the score, but he was unable to do so, and the Men in Green finished the super over with 13 runs.
