On August 29, Prime Video will launch the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Terrifying tree vines, terrible beasts, and other things were shown in the trailer.

As they anticipate the arrival of Sauron, several characters from Season 1 including Galadriel played by Morfydd Clark, Elrond portrayed by Robert Aramayo, Arondir played by Ismael Cruz Córdova and Isildur played by Maxim Baldry prepare to fight the supervillain.

A brief scene of the Stranger played by Daniel Weyman wielding a wooden staff was also included in the trailer.

The Stranger was identified as one of the wizards that would eventually populate Middle-earth in the first season finale.

Among the cameos in The Lord of the Rings are Mount Doom, one of the Great Eagles, and maybe Barad-dûr and the Watcher in the Water.

Unlike the first season of The Rings of Power, which was filmed in New Zealand, the second season’s filming got underway in the United Kingdom in late 2022.

While the screenplay was being written, Warner Bros. earlier revealed the date of the highly anticipated Lord of the Rings movie.

David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, stated on a conference call following the company’s profits that the first film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy will hit theaters in 2026.

The future series’ films will be directed by Andy Serkis in association with Pam Abdy and Mike De Luca of Warner Bros. Pictures.
