According to reports, the seventh installment in the venerable dinosaur series will star Scarlett Johansson, the star of Hollywood productions.
Beginning next week and continuing through July, filming for a portion of the film—which hasn’t been given a title yet but is expected to be released the following year—will take place in Bangkok and at national parks in Krabi, Phuket, Phang-nga, and Trang.
Locations include the Huay To waterfall in Khao Phanom Bencha National Park and the verdant island of Ko Kradan off the west coast of the kingdom.
According to Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Phatcharavat Wongsuwan, Thailand is “honoured” to be the location of the filming.
In a statement published on the Department of National Parks Facebook page on Wednesday, Phatcharavat stated, “However, it is strictly required that they comply with relevant laws and regulations, and must not affect and damage natural resources and the environment.”
The alert was issued more than 20 years after the well criticized Leonardo DiCaprio backpacking drama “The Beach” caused havoc with the immaculate beaches of Maya Bay on the island of Ko Phi Phi Leh in southern Thailand.
