Joker is an American psychological thriller film directed by Todd Phillips and co-written by Scott Silver. Joaquin Phoenix plays the Joker in the movie, which is based partly on characters from DC Comics. The story, which takes place in 1981, centers on Arthur Fleck, a failing stand-up comedian and clown whose decline into nihilism and mental illness spurs a violent countercultural revolt against the wealthy in a decaying Gotham City. 3. Schindler’s List
Steven Spielberg, Steven Zaillian, and Steven Spielberg are the directors and producers of the 1993 American epic historical drama film Schindler’s List. It is based on Australian novelist Thomas Keneally’s 1982 book Schindler’s Ark. The movie centers on Oskar Schindler, a German manufacturer who, during World War II, employed over a thousand primarily Polish-Jewish immigrants at his factories, therefore saving them from the Holocaust. Ben Kingsley plays Schindler’s Jewish accountant Itzhak Stern, Ralph Fiennes plays SS officer Amon Göth, and Liam Neeson plays Schindler.

4. The Truman Show
