Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar announced the committee’s formation and mentioned that other nations have previously passed laws governing social media during a press conference in Islamabad.
Other federal ministers, like as Azam Nazeer, Attaullah Tarar, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Shiza Fatima, will also be on the newly established committee. The Attorney General, Sherry Rehman, and Khalid Hussain Magsi will also be on the committee.

The commission headed by Rana Sanaullah is entrusted with holding stakeholder consultations in order to develop thorough suggestions for the proposed legislation.
According to the statement, the group will advise and assist the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Secretary in resolving a range of problems and difficulties within the industry.
The committee has given the prime minister 15 days to receive its recommendations.
