PTI’s Comeback and Support for Imran Khan

PTI made its return to the Parliament, this time under the banner of the Sunni Itehad Council (SIC). Despite restrictions on mentioning Imran Khan’s name or displaying his image, PTI lawmakers found creative ways to express their support, donning his face masks and carrying posters.

Aamir Dogar, a former PTI chief whip, didn’t hold back his support as he signed the attendance register and shouted slogans in favor of Imran Khan and PTI. The treasury benches echoed with chants and visuals in support of the party founder.

Tightened Security

Security around the Parliament House was visibly heightened, with increased police and Frontier Corps presence. Road closures and stringent vehicle checks ensured the safety of all attendees.

Just before the session, President Dr. Arif Alvi’s decision to sign a fresh advice for convening the assembly session put an end to speculations and debates. Despite reservations, the President upheld his constitutional duty, paving the way for the session to proceed.

Allegations & Constitutional Controversy

However, amidst the political fervor, PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar raised eyebrows with allegations against President Alvi, accusing him of violating the Constitution. This added a layer of intrigue to an already eventful day.
