Inzamam, a fast bowler, vented his displeasure on the fast bowler during a private TV program after Pakistan’s loss to the USA in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. He also took aim at the cricket board for fielding players who were unfit and out of shape.
“You’re [Haris] not his fan on the field; you’re there to compete and beat him,” Inzamam replied in response to a query regarding Haris Rauf’s performance in the tournaments. Inzamam also questioned Azam Khan’s performance, the right-handed wicketkeeper batsman who was out for a golden duck against the United States.
“We anticipate Azam, who has batted 8 in 13 matches, to shoulder the middle order’s workload? Azam Khan is not at blame for that; the PCB and the selectors are,” Inzamam stated.
Although the former captain acknowledged that Saim Ayub, a graceful southpaw batter, had some talent, he said Saim’s present form did not warrant his selection in the World Cup squad.
