Nonetheless, a recent Tweet on X stated that, considering Take-Two’s $7 billion in revenue, the publisher is probably going to release the game in early 2025. This was reported by a gaming website.
The tweet said, “Take-Two previously stated they would reveal FY25 plans (games releasing before April 2025 and estimated revenue) in their final quarter earnings call on May 16th. We’re likely to find out whether GTA 6 will launch in early 2025 or later next week.”

The tweet indicates that Grand Theft Auto 6’s release date will be decided upon at Take-Two’s next earnings call. A recent report speculated that a development lag may cause the game to be postponed from 2025 to 2026.
It is important to note that since the stated release date relates to the console rather than the PC, PC gamers could have to wait longer. A few days prior, Take-Two Interactive shut down the developer responsible for the video game Kerbal Space Program 2.
According to a May 2 gaming website, the business, which also owns Rockstar Games, the developer of Grand Theft Auto 6, closed Intercept Games, a studio that worked on Kerbal Space Program 2.
Roll7 studio, the publisher of OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome, has closed its doors along with Intercept Games.
The publisher of Grand Theft Auto 6 declared last month that it was canceling $140 million worth of projects and laying off 5% of its workforce, or 600 people.
Take-Two disclosed in an end-of-business SEC filing that it intends to save more than $165 million a year by “reducing its existing expense base and lowering projected expense growth for the coming years,” according to Bloomberg.
