Due to a lack of players, Australia’s head coach Andrew McDonald, assistant coaches Brad Hodge and Andre Borovec, and chairman of selectors George Bailey all entered the game as substitutes.

After the IPL ended, Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Marcus Stoinis had not yet joined the team, leaving just nine players available for Australia.

The former T20 World champions asked Namibia to bat first and, thanks to outstanding bowling performances from Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa, restricted them to 119-9 in 20 overs.

Zampa responded with stats of 3-25, while Hazlewood claimed two wickets for five runs.

Namibia’s standout player was Zane Green, who scored thirty-ball 38 with five boundaries.

With David Warner playing aggressively, Australia chased down the score in just 10 overs, showing dominance in the process. On his route to a 21-ball 54, he hit six boundaries and three sixes.

Tim David amassed 23 runs off of 16 balls, and Matthew Wade hit a perfect 12-off of five.

Bernard Scholtz claimed two wickets for Namibia.

On Thursday at the same location, Australia’s final warm-up match will take place against co-hosts West Indies.
