Narine, who was selected to bat first alongside Phil Salt in the inning, looked extremely skilled as he blasted the Delhi Capitals’ bowlers all over the field.
As he blasted the first two balls for consecutive sixes and a boundary, Sunil Narine hit Ishant Sharma for 26 runs in a single over, contributing to the Kolkata Knight Riders’ second-highest total in IPL history with his explosive innings.
The West Indian player smashed Sharma for a six on the fifth ball of the over after missing the fourth delivery and added another boundary to end the over.

The 35-year-old hit his 50 in just 21 deliveries, and his 85 runs is the IPL 2024 record for highest individual score.
Choosing to bat first against Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders managed to score 272 runs in 20 overs at a cost of seven wickets.
Early in the inning, Narine narrowly avoided being out when he edged an Ishant Sharma delivery to wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant’s gloves. Replays confirmed an outside edge, but the on-field umpire ruled it out.
The umpire argued that Pant, the captain of the Delhi Capitals, was late in referring the decision, hence he was not allowed to review it.
