Although Segal was recently added to the roster of the movie, an Indian media outlet said that Bhansali Productions had previously revealed Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt as the cast of the romantic drama earlier this year. Actor Sharmin Segal from Heeramandi is reportedly a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film, according to reports on Reddit. A Reddit member shared this: “My friend recently spoke with someone who works with SLB, and the source verified that Sharmin Segal will be appearing in ‘Love & War.'” Their dreams were all but crushed after the fiasco, since they had anticipated Heeramandi to be a huge hit and Sharmin to be the talk of the town.

According to the user, those working on the project had doubts regarding Segal’s acting abilities, however, nobody could forward their concerns to SLB.
It is pertinent to mention that Segal was brutally trolled by the fans for her acting in Bhansali’s web series as several called her acting “expressionless.”
Following the outrage, the actor turned off the comment section on her Instagram.
Segal was dubbed the weakest link in the cast of Heeramandi and viewers questioned Bhansali for casting her in a lengthy role, only because of her relation to him.
Actress Aditi Rao Hydari then denounced the trolls who were criticising Sharmin Segal for her role in her uncle’s online series. Hydari referred to the negative feedback Segal has been getting after appearing in the online series as cruel and awful. It is abhorrent to disparage someone. I am aware that not everyone like something. One way to put it is this. It can become really cruel. It’s becoming really unfair, and I don’t think it should be happening that way,” the woman stated.
