Surprising many, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik announced his third marriage to actress Sana Javed in a small ceremony on Saturday. The 41-year-old cricketer shared the news on his Instagram, quoting, “Alhamdullilah. And We created you in pairs.”

Following the announcement, Sana Javed promptly updated her Instagram bio to “Sana Shoaib Malik.” The newlyweds shared images from their wedding, both donning coordinated attire for the occasion.
Shoaib wore a white sherwani with a golden embroidered shawl, while Sana chose a beige lehnga adorned with green and gold jewelry. Wedding bands were also visible on the couple.
Malik’s manager, Arsalan Shah, confirmed the news on X, stating, “Confirmation: Our beloved superstar @realshoaibmalik has tied the knot (Nikkah) with #SanaJaved. Wishing the new couple an amazing life ahead filled with happiness and joy! #ShoaibMalik.”

Notably, two days prior, Indian media reported a cryptic post from tennis star Sania Mirza on Instagram, discussing marriage and divorce in a motivational context.

The post read, “Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely.”
Formerly recognized as a power couple, Shoaib and Sania had been in the limelight since 2022 amid reports of their separation. While rumors circulated about Shoaib and Sana’s alleged divorce, both remained silent on the matter, purportedly due to agreements. Despite public speculation about their relationship status, neither party publicly verified or denied the rumors.
The couple initially tied the knot in 2010 and welcomed their son, Izhan Mirza-Malik, in 2018. Despite occasional rumors of distance between them, Shoaib consistently dismissed such speculations and even posted messages for Sania on social media over a span of four to five months.

In a look back at the past during an interview, Shoaib shared a story about getting married over the phone without ever meeting his bride in person and the subsequent feeling of being deceived. Back in 2002, Ayesha called Shoaib, expressing the need to marry him urgently because their relationship had become a media sensation, causing distress for her family.
The twist in the tale came in 2005 when Shoaib discovered the real identity of Ayesha. He explained the moment he realized that the girl in the pictures and the person he had been talking to were actually two different people:
“I immediately called Ayesha and confronted her about the truth. I was really angry. I told her I was thinking about releasing the photographs she had sent me. She apologized and explained that the other girl in the pictures was already married. She emphasized that it would ruin her life if those pictures were made public. After thinking it over, I realized that the person in the photographs probably had no idea about the situation. It wouldn’t be fair to expose those pictures.”

According to reports, Sania Mirza’s father, Imran Mirza, has confirmed that she utilized her right to divorce her former husband, Shoaib Malik, through a ‘khula.’ The PTI news agency quoted Imran Mirza on Saturday, stating that “it was a khula,” referring to the Muslim woman’s right to unilaterally seek a divorce from her husband.
Earlier, unverified media reports suggested that Sania Mirza sought a divorce from Shoaib, allegedly due to her dissatisfaction with the cricket player’s interactions with other women. The 37-year-old former tennis player reportedly took this step after reaching a point of impatience.
