Against Australia, Sharma had an outstanding performance, hitting a brilliant 41 balls for 92 runs, including seven fours and eight sixes.
By extending his advantage and becoming the first batter to reach the 200-six milestone, the right-handed batsman—who currently holds the record for the most sixes in T20I cricket—maintained his lead.
With 203 sixes, he now tops the chart. Martin Guptill of New Zealand is second with 173 sixes.
Sharma also emerged as the hitter with the second-highest number of sixes in T20 World Cup history, after only West Indies great Chris Gayle (63), with 48 sixes.
India defeated Australia by 24 runs to advance to the T20 World Cup 2024 semifinals under Sharma’s captaincy.
