Pakistan Government Cuts Petrol Price by Rs 10.20 Per Litre

The current price of petrol is Rs258.16 per litre, which is Rs10.20 less than the previous price of Rs268.36, according to information provided to ARY News.

In a same vein, high-speed diesel (HSD) will now cost Rs267.89 per litre, a reduction of Rs2.33 from its previous price of Rs270.22.

The Pakistani government lowered the cost of gasoline and high-speed diesel by Rs4.74 and Rs3.86 per litre, respectively, a fortnight ago.

With this most recent cut, the public has received respite from gas prices of Rs35 per litre.

It was previously stated that the government planned to reduce the price of gasoline and high-speed diesel (HSD) in order to pass on to customers the benefits of reduced worldwide pricing.

Sources claim that for the past two weeks, the price of gasoline and HSD has decreased by roughly $3.75 and $2.7 per barrel, respectively, on the global market.

As markets assessed the effects of U.S. interest rates remaining higher for longer than expected, oil prices dropped on Friday.

At $82.33 a barrel, Brent crude futures were down 42 cents, or 0.5%. US crude futures for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) fell 51 cents, or 0.7%, to settle at $78.11 per barrel.
