Pakistan Dismisses Bloc Politics Stance in Beijing Address by Deputy PM Dar

These statements were delivered by Deputy PM Dar today in Beijing during a joint news conference with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Ishaq Dar stated that the two nations will continue to assist one another on matters of fundamental interest and concern as all-weather strategic cooperation partners.

According to the deputy premier, China and Pakistan have decided to move more quickly on the ML-1 railway line project, the Gwadar Port Development, and the Phase 2 realignment of the Karakoram Highway.

Strengthening collaboration in the fields of agriculture, mining, minerals, energy, information technology, and industry was also decided.

Phase two of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has begun, and both sides are excited about creating corridors for growth, livelihood, innovation, green development, and inclusivity.

The Deputy Prime Minister went on to say that the details of third party participation in CPEC have been finalized by consensus. He expressed gratitude for China’s development aid to Pakistan and looked forward to expanding China’s development presence there.

Ishaq Dar stated that the Karakoram Highway is widely acknowledged as the key artery of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the pivotal point of the country’s geographic connectedness. He continued, “We would carry out our prior agreement to start all-weather operations of the Khunjrab-Sost border crossing soon.”

He expressed gratitude to Beijing for its consistent stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute as well as China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, integrity, and right to prosperity.

The Deputy Prime Minister said he briefed the Chinese side about the threat to regional peace and security that continue to emanate from India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir, its unilateral actions and hostile posture.

He said peace in the region will remain elusive until the historic injustices meted out to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are addressed in line with wishes of Kashmiri people and resolutions of UN Security Council.

Talking about Afghanistan, he said both Pakistan and China are unanimous that a peaceful, stable, united, safe and secure Afghanistan is fundamental for the development, connectivity and prosperity of the region.

“We express our concern regarding the persistent existence of terrorist groups functioning within Afghanistan and urge the Afghan-interim government to implement believable and verifiable measures against these elements that exploit Afghan territory to jeopardize the security and stability of neighboring nations,” he stated.

Ishaq Dar expressed his deepest sympathies for the loss of five Chinese people and a Pakistani national in a terrorist incident in Shangla, while also recognizing the contributions made by Chinese nationals working in Pakistan and referring to them as visitors.

He declared that Pakistan will always remember their services and how much it values their sacrifices. He declared that Pakistan is totally dedicated to holding the masterminds, sponsors, and perpetrators of this horrific assault accountable.
