A fresh peril has surfaced in Pakistani politics with Maulana Fazlur Rahman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam F and the former head of the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM), alleging that General Bajwa and General Faiz Hameed orchestrated the downfall of Imran Khan’s government. Fazlur Rahman felt compelled to unveil this scheme in order to overthrow Imran Khan’s administration.
As the head of the PDM alliance that ousted Imran Khan’s government, Maulana Fazlur Rahman eventually acknowledged Imran Khan’s claims that Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq were behind the downfall of his government and provided corroborating information.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman admitted that the no-confidence movement was initiated at the behest of General (Retd) Bajwa. He revealed that at the time of the no-confidence vote against Imran Khan, General Bajwa and Faiz Hameed were in communication with them, and the plan was finalized by the PML-N and the Pakistan Peoples Party.
The revelation of the army’s open interference in Pakistani politics and the breach of its oath by Maulana Fazlur Rahman in an interview with a Pakistani channel posed a significant threat to Pakistani politics. Imran Khan’s assertions were validated by this disclosure.
Imran Khan had consistently stated that he preferred General Sarfaraz Ali, who was martyred in an air accident in Balochistan last year, to General Faiz Hamid as the Army Chief. However, the Pakistan Muslim League-N and the PDM propagated misinformation for sixteen months, associating General Faiz with Imran Khan and destabilizing the Pakistani economy.

Following Maulana Fazlur Rahman’s revelation, all the claims made by Imran Khan were proven true, with his political rival himself confirming in a TV program that the no-confidence motion was brought at the behest of General (Retd) Bajwa. Imran Khan’s stance was vindicated as the political parties executed it.
Amidst the significant upheaval in Pakistani politics, the local administration is facilitating the formation of the government on the rigged seats for the PML-N in Punjab. The bureaucracy of Punjab began visiting Maryam Nawaz at Raiwand Mahal without any party formally forming the Punjab government.
The politics of PML-N revolves around their family, leading to despair among the people of Pakistan. People now question if the PML-N had declared any of the old leaders as the chief minister or prime ministerial candidate, suggesting that Shahid Khaqan Abbasi became the prime minister only because there was no other member of the Sharif family in the National Assembly.
In contrast, none of the leaders such as Usman Buzdar, Pervaiz Khattak, Mehmood Khan, Umar Ayub, Barrister Gohar, Salar Kakar, Mian Aslam Iqbal, or Ali Amin Gandapur are related to Imran Khan. This is why people resent the PML-N, not its inherent politics. If the PML-N were to honor its senior leaders in these positions today, it could regain its position from the nineties. However, the Sharif brothers have been sidelining other senior leaders, considering top positions as their prerogative, leading to the departure of old senior PML-N leaders like Ch Nisar Ali Khan, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Mehtab Abbasi, Javed Hashmi, Miftah Ismail, and Muhammad Zubair.
