Mohammad al-Mughayyir, a senior official at the civil defense agency, told AFP that “the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation army in the refugee tents northwest of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip has left 40 martyrs and 65 wounded.”

“We observed burned corpses and severed limbs… Amputation cases, injured children, women, and elderly people were also observed.

Rescue efforts, he claimed, were beset by serious difficulties.

“There is a scarcity of fuel.” In these targeted locations, there are roads that have been devastated, making it difficult for civil defense vehicles to get about,” Mughayyir stated.

“There’s not enough water to put out fires either.”
