Yumna Zaidi Biography

Yumna Zaidi was born on July 30, 1989, is a Pakistani TV entertainer. She is perceived for her roles in the serials Khushi Ek Roag, Meri Dulari, Dil Muhallay Ki Haveli, Rishtay Kuch Adhooray Se, Mausam, Guzaarish and Zara Yaad Kar. She has set up a profession in the Urdu broadcast business and has gotten seven Hum Award nominations.

Yumna Zaidi was raised in Lahore, currently residing in Texas while maintaining a professional presence between Karachi and Lahore. Her father, Zameendar Zaidi, was a businessman who passed away in June 2019, and her mother, Shabana Naheed Zaidi, is a homemaker. Originally from Arif Wala in Pakpattan, Punjab, Yumna holds a Master’s degree in interior design. In addition to her acting career, she has some experience in Radio Jockeying and hosting.

Although she did not initially pursue a career in acting, Yumna Zaidi ventured into the field at the behest of her friend Affan Waheed. She made her acting debut with a supporting role in the 2012 domestic drama “Thakan” on ARY Digital. This was followed by a lead role in “Khushi Ek Roag.” Subsequently, she appeared in “Teri Raah Main Rul Gai” on Urdu 1, opposite Samiya Mumtaz and Sami Khan, portraying the character of Maryam.

Yumna gained acclaim for portraying emotionally intense characters in dramas such as Geo TV’s “Meri Dulari” (2013) and Hum TV’s “Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi” (2013), the latter earning her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Hum Awards. Her noteworthy role as a troubled wife in the romantic drama “Rishtay Kuch Adhooray Se” (2013) established her as a leading actress in Pakistan, winning her the Hum Award for Best Actress and Best Actress Popular nominations. Subsequently, she made a special appearance in the 2013 serial “Sannata” and played a supporting role in Kashif Nisar’s directorial “Kis Se Kahoon” alongside Sajal Ali and Agha Ali. Beginning in 2018–2019, she appeared in “Pukaar” as Samra, the widow of the medieval king, and in the 7th Sky Entertainment’s project “Dil Kiya Karey,” directed by Mehreen Jabbar. Yumna played the role of Hajra in the social drama “Inkaar” opposite Imran Ashraf and Sami Khan. She also appeared in Angeline Malik’s compilation series “Choti Batain.” Furthermore, she had an extended appearance in “Ishq Zahe Naseeb” and played Raina in the telefilm “Shaadi Impossible.”
