Pakistan, tasked with chasing 120 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, could only muster 113 runs in the 20 overs given, losing seven wickets.
Pakistan had already lost to co-hosts United States of America (USA) in the Super Over, making this their second defeat of the event.
Speaking to an Indian broadcaster, Akram was blunt in his criticism of the performance of the national squad.
Pakistani athletes believe that nothing bad would happen to them and that their coaches will be fired if they don’t do well. It’s time to replace the entire team and retain the coaches, Akram declared.
Wasim Akram also questioned Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Muhammad Rizwan, three seasoned batters, about their knowledge of the game.

“I can’t educate them; they’ve been playing cricket for ten years. Rizwan is not cognizant of the game. He ought to have recognized that Bumrah was handed the ball to take wickets and that playing his deliveries carefully would have been the prudent course of action. However, Rizwan lost his wicket after going for a massive hit, he continued.
Pakistan began the chase cautiously, with their esteemed opening duo of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam adding 26 runs to the total before the former went to Jasprit Bumrah in the fifth over, having scored 13.
After that, Rizwan and Usman Khan formed a crucial combination that saw them add 31 runs to Pakistan’s tally, bringing their total to 57 at the interval.
Following Usman’s out, Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman shared 26 runs for the third wicket, forming yet another significant partnership for Pakistan.
