According to a news release from the Foreign Office Spokesperson, Pakistan’s ambassador met with the Kyrgyz deputy foreign minister over the Bishkek violence occurrences at the behest of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The minister from Kyrgyzstan announced that the situation had been under control and was now returning to normal.
He said that all of the dormitories were secured by the Kyrgyz police, and that the Kyrgyz President was personally overseeing the situation.
The ambassador was given the assurance by Deputy FM Almaz that the Kyrgyz government would prosecute those responsible for yesterday’s incident.
He shared that fourteen foreign nationals including some Pakistanis were discharged after first aid while one Pakistani national remained under treatment.
Meanwhile, the envoy urged the Kyrgyz Government to prioritize the safeguarding of Pakistani nationals.

In Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, there have been violent altercations between student groups; there have been allegations of attackers brandishing batons. The attackers injured numerous international students, including Pakistanis, by breaking into the dorm rooms with force.
According to reports, on May 13, a harassment incident involving female Egyptian students precipitated the outbreak of violence.
Pakistani students in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, were advised to stay indoors by the country’s embassy in Kyrgyzstan.
“In view of mob violence around student hostels in Bishkek, the embassy strongly advise all Pakistani students in Bishkek to stay indoors until the situation return to normal,” Pakistan’s ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Hasan Zaigham wrote on X, formerly Twitter, early on Saturday.
“We are communicating with the local law enforcement agencies to guarantee our student fraternity’s safety.”
A representative for the Pakistani foreign office, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, stated that the Pakistani embassy has answered hundreds of questions from students and their families.
