Yumna Zaidi Family Background and Education
Yumna Zaidi was raised in Lahore, currently residing in Texas while maintaining a professional presence between Karachi and Lahore. Her father, Zameendar Zaidi, was a businessman who passed away in June 2019, and her mother, Shabana Naheed Zaidi, is a homemaker. Originally from Arif Wala in Pakpattan, Punjab, Yumna holds a Master’s degree in interior design. In addition to her acting career, she has some experience in Radio Jockeying and hosting.

Although she did not initially pursue a career in acting, Yumna Zaidi ventured into the field at the behest of her friend Affan Waheed. She made her acting debut with a supporting role in the 2012 domestic drama “Thakan” on ARY Digital. This was followed by a lead role in “Khushi Ek Roag.” Subsequently, she appeared in “Teri Raah Main Rul Gai” on Urdu 1, opposite Samiya Mumtaz and Sami Khan, portraying the character of Maryam.

Yumna gained acclaim for portraying emotionally intense characters in dramas such as Geo TV’s “Meri Dulari” (2013) and Hum TV’s “Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi” (2013), the latter earning her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Hum Awards. Her noteworthy role as a troubled wife in the romantic drama “Rishtay Kuch Adhooray Se” (2013) established her as a leading actress in Pakistan, winning her the Hum Award for Best Actress and Best Actress Popular nominations. Subsequently, she made a special appearance in the 2013 serial “Sannata” and played a supporting role in Kashif Nisar’s directorial “Kis Se Kahoon” alongside Sajal Ali and Agha Ali.
