Trailer Synopsis

Monkey Man tells the story of a man’s search for revenge against the dishonest authorities who killed his mother and still victimize the weak and impoverished on a systemic basis. The myth of Hanuman, an icon of bravery and power, served as the inspiration for the India-set picture. In the movie, Patel portrays the Kid, a nameless young man who wears a gorilla mask and gets into the underground fight club where he gets brutally beaten by more well-known fighters every night in exchange for cash.

To get brutal revenge, Patel’s character stabs hits, and shoots his way through attackers. He even violently stabs a man in the neck at one point while holding a knife between his teeth.

Based on his own story and screenplay co-written with Paul Angunawela and John Collee, Patel directed “Monkey Man.” Although it was initially scheduled for Netflix, Monkeypaw’s film deal with Universal is allowing it to be released in theatres.
