Shakib Al Hasan Reaches Milestone 50 Wickets in T20 World Cup

When he removed Rohit Sharma in the fourth over of the opening innings during his team’s T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight match against India, the left-arm spinner accomplished the milestone.

But Shakib had a difficult day with the ball against India, giving up 37 runs in three overs.
For those who may not know, Shakib is one of the few players who has participated in every T20 World Cup since the competition’s start in 2007.

With 148 wickets in 128 appearances, he is also the second-highest wicket-taker in Twenty20 Internationals, only surpassed by Tim Southee of New Zealand, who has 164 wickets in his account.

It is important to note that Bangladesh must win their T20 World Cup 2024 Super Eight encounter against in order to pursue 197 runs.

After being put to bat first, India reached their target of 196/5 in the 20 overs given to them, thanks to a blistering half-century from Hardik Pandya.

Pandya, who batted at number six, used aggressive hitting to increase India’s score. In his journey to an undefeated fifty off twenty-seven deliveries, he hit four fours and three sixes.

Alongside Pandya, India’s other important contributors were Virat Kohli (37), Shivam Dube (34), and Rishabh Pant (36).

Shakib Al Hasan claimed one wicket for Bangladesh, while Rishad Hossain and Tanzim Hasan Sakib both claimed two.
