Sania Mirza recently appeared on Netflix’s “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” where she was asked which actor, if there were to be a biopic about her, she believed should play her. With her fellow athletes Mary Kom and Saina Nehwal, who starred in their respective biopics as Priyanka and Parineeti Chopra, the tennis legend joked, “Inki koi behen bachi hain (Are there any sisters left)?”
“No, I believe that our nation produces a lot of talented actors. Everyone is doing well. Or perhaps I ought to act as myself,” she said.
The actress’s remark brought to mind a quote from Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan, who once declared that he would like to play Mirza’s love interest in the event that a biopic about her life is ever produced.
Given her recent divorce from Pakistani cricket player Shoaib Malik, she briefly felt uncomfortable before responding, “But I need to find a love interest first.”
“I might play myself in the movie if Shahrukh ji does it.” And if Akshay Kumar is in it, I’ll surely do it,” she went on, reinforcing her unwavering admiration for the “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” star.
