The decision was taken in the PTI’s core committee meeting where the party urged for delaying the election owing to the postponement of the Senate election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The PTI, in a statement, said that the upper house of the parliament was incomplete without the election of Senators from the KP, thus the election has been unconstitutional.

The party declared that if it did not represent every unit in the federation, the elections would be “unconstitutional.”
The government’s strategy to intimidate the judges, according to the former ruling party, was the complaints made against Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The PTI core committee further stated that the campaign against the judiciary is the reason behind the misconduct reference made against a certain judge.
The PTI, which Imran Khan formed, asked Pakistan’s chief justice to take notice of the abuse that judges are subjected to.
It is important to note that the provincial election commissioner in KP postponed the Senate election on April 2 in response to an application from opposition lawmakers.
Due to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s lack of Senate elections, the PTI-backed Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) had filed a plea with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) asking for the Senate chairman and deputy chairman elections to be postponed.
On behalf of the SIC, attorney Hamid Khan filed a plea requesting that the ECP call an early election to fill 11 Senate seats in the province.
The KP Senate poll is necessary to complete the Electoral College, according to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed SIC, which suggested delaying the April 9 Senate chairman and deputy chairman election.
In the meanwhile, following the recent house election, plans are in motion to call the Senate into its first session on April 9.
In addition to the newly elected senators taking their oath during the Senate session, the election of the chairman and deputy chairman will also take place that day.
