Pakistan Coast Guards Strengthens Anti-Drug Trafficking Operations

According to a press release released today, intelligence-based operations were carried out in Uthal, Khari Check Post, and Gwadar’s naala side of Balochistan on the orders of Federal Interior Minister and Anti-Narcotics Minister Mohsin Naqvi. These operations resulted in notable seizures and arrests.

It stated that 255 packs of gutka and 1140 kg of charas were seized from a coach traveling from Quetta, near Uthal, to Karachi.

12,800 liters of Iranian diesel were taken off of a bus that was headed for Karachi during another operation at the Khari checkpoint.

In a statement released by the Pakistan Coast Guards, it was stated that “an additional thirteen illegal immigrants were arrested from Gwadar’s naala side, who were attempting to enter Pakistan illegally from Iran via speedboat without any legal documents or permits.” The FIA authorities now have custody of all the detainees pending additional inquiry and possible legal action.

Prior to this, Mohsin Naqvi gave the order to maintain a zero-tolerance policy and carry out indiscriminate action against smuggling.

The minister emphasized that the mafia must be stopped since smuggling is damaging the nation’s economy and industry. The statement said, “He also expressed gratitude for the Pakistan Coast Guards’ efforts to prevent smuggling.

It was previously announced that throughout the nationwide campaign against drugs since September of last year, the security forces had apprehended 1037 metric tons of drugs. There have also been 1538 narcotics dealers apprehended during the ongoing investigation.

Details show that during this month, 4,847 kg of drugs were found in Balochistan, 83 kg in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 161 kg in Gilgit-Baltistan, 56 kg in Punjab, and 38 kg in Sindh.

All pertinent organizations are committed to carrying on with their work until the drug problem is totally eradicated in the nation.
