Engineer Zamrud Khan, the presiding officer, chaired the Balochistan Assembly session. The new assembly members took their oath as MPAs of the provincial house.
The 51 MPs who took oath today include parliamentarians from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the two largest parties in the 65-member House. The assembly has 11 allocated seats for women and three for minorities, with the PPP holding 11 seats and the PML-N holding 10.
Meanwhile, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) hold ten and five seats, respectively. Earlier, it was reported that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had created a power-sharing committee in Balochistan with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
According to sources, the PML-N committee for talks with the PPP on the formation of a government in Balochistan consists of Jam Kamal Khan, Nawab Jangez Mari, Mir Saleem Khosa, Mir Asim Khird, Sheikh Jaffer Mandokhel, and Jamal Shah Kakar.

According to sources, the committee would first meet with the party leadership before moving on to talks with the PPP.
