An incident occurred in the Bara area of Khyber District , a leopard ventured into a residential area, resulting in a dangerous encounter with a man. The local residents, prompted by the urgency of the situation, took matters into their own hands and unfortunately had to resort to shooting the leopard to ensure the safety of the community.
The wild animal’s attack left the man with serious injuries, prompting immediate intervention by the locals who acted swiftly by shooting the leopard on the spot. Surprisingly, officials from the Forests and Wildlife Department, despite being notified, failed to appear at the scene of the attack.

Allegations have surfaced among the local residents, pointing to the illegal tree cutting activities by the Forest and Wildlife Department in the jungle. They argue that such activities are driving wild animals closer to populated areas, leading to incidents like the recent leopard attack.
This unfortunate event adds to a series of similar incidents in the area, where encounters between wild animals and humans have resulted in the tragic deaths of several leopards and other wildlife. The community is now grappling with the need for better management strategies to prevent such encounters and protect both humans and the diverse wildlife in the region.
