The property tax system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa became automated on Friday with the inauguration of the GIS-based Centralized Urban Immovable Property Tax Management and Information System (CUIPTMIS).
According to a handout, Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, the acting chief minister, was the principal guest during a ceremony that took place at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar. The recently introduced system was completed for a total of 95.898 million rupees.
The initiative was first introduced in the province’s two districts, Nowshera and Abbottabad, and it will shortly be expanded to include the remaining districts. The initiative has identified 50938 additional property units in the districts of Abbottabad and Nowshera, bringing the total number of property units in the two districts to 90,938.

Speaking at the event, the chief minister praised the Excise and Taxation Department for starting this significant project and noted that the newly created system will help taxpayers as well as enhance tax collecting and administration processes.
