In many parts of the nation, serious disruptions have resulted from widespread, heavy rain since Thursday. One such place is Balochistan province, where all schools have been closed till Thursday.
Building collapses in northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province claimed the lives of 26 people, including 18 children.

According to Taimur Ali Khan, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s spokesperson, “a total of 27 individuals have lost their lives as a result of continuous rainfall over the past four days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
Over 150 dwellings were destroyed and one more person lost their life in a landslide. According to Jahanzain Khan, the chief of the disaster management organization, five people were killed when buildings fell on Thursday and Friday in the southern province of Balochistan.
Major routes were blocked in Gilgit-Baltistan, while damaged roads, floods, and landslides have isolated communities in Balochistan from major towns, according to local media.
The Pakistani Meteorological Department predicts further snow and rain for the area on Sunday.
