Harbhajan Singh Reveals India’s Past Fear of Facing Shahid Afridi

He talked on how dangerous and successful Afridi’s batting was, saying that the former captain of Pakistan could quickly steal the game from the opposition at the crease.

“It doesn’t matter how long he was on the wicket; what matters is that he extended our team meeting. I recall that 2007 World Cup match. The opposition would be terrified if Shahid Afridi was yet to bat, according to Harbhajan Singh.
The Indian spin bowler claimed that even if the powerful batter played just 15 balls, he may alter the outcome of the game. “He was capable of taking the game to new heights.”

Irfan Pathan and Shahid Afridi had a brief conversation. Irfan was talking and bowling a bouncer when Afridi faced his first ball. Afridi attempted to play a massive shot on the very next delivery, but he was out. Half the job was done for India by the time he left, he recalled.

It is important to note that on June 9, the bitter rivals Pakistan and India squared off in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2004.

Captain Babar Azam won the toss and chose to bowl first, as the Men in Green bowled out India for 119 in 19 overs in New York.
