Chinese Minister and COAS Confer on Regional Peace and Stability

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement stating that the COAS and Liu Jianchao spoke about issues of shared concern, such as peace and stability in the region.

A review of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) progress was also conducted at the conference.
The COAS underlined Pakistan’s steadfast dedication to the strategic alliance with China and promised complete support for the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)’s flagship project, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), to be implemented successfully.

According to Liu Jianchao, his journey to Pakistan is a follow-up to the fruitful conversations that the leaders of the two nations had in China.

In addition, he highlighted the importance of the two countries’ long-standing fraternal ties and expressed satisfaction with the advancements made on the CPEC, underscoring China’s dedication to its completion

Along with applauding Pakistan’s efforts to uphold peace and stability in the area, the visiting dignitary acknowledged the assistance of the Pakistan Armed Forces in ensuring the safety of Chinese nationals and projects in Pakistan.

The leaders of Pakistan’s mainstream political parties came together earlier in the day on Friday to support the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), demonstrating an admirable level of agreement and reaffirming their unwavering commitment to fortifying Pakistan-China ties by thwarting any malicious plans.

The political consensus was demonstrated at the third meeting of the CPEC Political Parties Joint Consultative Mechanism and the CPEC Pakistan-China Political Parties Forum. Both events were co-chaired by Liu Jianchao, a member of the Communist Party’s Central Committee and minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), who is currently visiting this country for three days. Ishaq Dar is the deputy prime minister and foreign minister.

Senior leaders from all major political parties attended the event, including Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, MQM’s Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Maulana Fazlur Rehman of JUI-F, Hina Rabbani Khar of PPP, Senator Syed Ali Zafar of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Munazza Hassan of Istehkam Pakistan Party, Senator Jan Muhammad of the National Party, and other prominent figures. Senate Chairman Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq were also present.
