Actor Fardeen Khan Makes Long-Awaited Comeback in Heeramandi

A first-look image of Fardeen Khan, who plays Wali Mohammed in the historical drama series, was released by Netflix on Saturday.

The caption said, “Wali Mohammed tries to balance his royal duties and his heart’s desire while caught up in a furious battle between love and duty.” As Wali Mohammed, Fardeen Khan makes a breathtaking comeback to the big screen!

His first appearance in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, which is based on the lives of the red-light district in undivided India and the courtesans of Lahore, shows him in a completely new form with a moustache and period clothing.

“Fardeen Khan makes his spectacular return to the screen as Wali Mohammed, caught in a whirlwind struggle of love and duty, Wali Mohammed attempts to reconcile his heart’s desire with his royal responsibilities,” the caption said.
Dulha Mil Gaya was Fardeen’s last big-screen appearance. The actor had taken a hiatus, abstaining from all film and social media.

Starring in the film are Sharmin Segal, Richa Chaddha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, and Manisha Koirala.

According to the official series summary, “A young heir caught in the crossfire of a power struggle in Heeramandi chooses love over succession, upending the status quo.” set in pre-independence India in opposition to the growing independence movement.

The 14-year filmmaker’s passion project, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, is hailed as an epic tale of love, power, retribution, and freedom. Heeramandi, which has an idea credited to Moin Beg and is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Prerna Singh, will be available on Netflix on May 1.
