The government-backed power transmission business is carrying out its extensive maintenance program for the NTDC transmission lines and grid stations in accordance with the directives of its Managing Director, Engineer Dr. Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan, in order to guarantee a continuous supply of electricity throughout the nation.
An NTDC representative informed the media that the relevant NTDC formations are handling the washing, cleaning, replacement of disc insulators, and other necessary tasks as part of the maintenance schedule. He continued by saying that these actions will improve the dependability of grid stations and transmission lines and contribute to a continuous supply of electricity throughout the fasting month of Ramadan.

In the southern region, shutdowns on 500kV and 220kV transmission line circuits were also made possible by this scheme. He stated that cleaning, insulator washing, line hardware nut and bolt tightening, and disc insulator replacement with RTV coated disc insulators on red, yellow, and blue phases were all done during these shutdowns.
In further detail, the spokesman stated that 459 locations totaled 73,493 disc insulators washed and cleaned; 55 locations replaced 9,804 disc insulators; over 688 braces and 570 nuts and bolts were installed; two damaged disc insulator strings (132kV C.B E5Q1 and E7Q1 C.B Yellow Phase) as well as two intact EMCO-Make disc insulators strings of 132kV C.B E7Q1 (a total of four strings) were also replaced at 220kV Grid Station Jhampir-1.
The maintenance program is being overseen by the General Manager (Asset Management-South), who also said that the NTDC Managing Director has expressed appreciation for the concerned transmission line (maintenance) divisions’ performance and has urged them to finish the job on schedule.
